About
I’m Dennis Wever, a guitarist and session musician with more than 20 years of experience in progressive rock, alternative rock, classic rock and hard rock. Inspired by the melodic playing of David Gilmour, Andrew Latimer and Steve Rothery, I take a song-focused approach to both band projects and session work.
My work ranges from layered progressive arrangements to concise, lyric-driven songs, atmospheric lead guitar and expressive solos.

Herding Cats
A Southern Rock power trio inspired by Gov’t Mule and Warren Haynes. With heavy grooves, bluesy guitar and soulful vocals, Herding Cats brings dynamic, improvisation-filled live shows and is also working on original material.

Newland
Alex Nieuwland’s alternative pop-rock project. Dennis played lead guitar and contributed backing vocals from 2019 to 2022.
Moonradio
Alternative rock band blending guitars, synthesizers and effects into emotionally driven songs. Dennis contributed to the writing and performance of material featured on the 2025 EP New Roads.
Aberration
Progressive rock band founded in 2019, with music spanning melodic prog rock and atmospheric soundscapes. The band’s repertoire includes “Return of the Lost Sailor.”
Octavarium
Progressive rock band Dennis joined in 2017, exploring long-form dynamics, layered compositions and melodic solos.
Other bands
Dennis has also played with symphonic rock band Clinch, Pink Floyd tribute band Sysyphus (The Early Years), and Camel tribute band The Spirit of Camel. He has also contributed to Insight, a project by composer and producer Luc Middeldorp, and played lead guitar with SIDR, a characterful rock band based in Meppel.
Solo work
Introspective, atmospheric tracks including Polly, Lost in the River and Reach for the Sky (2024).
